Taking a photo, then being able to zoom in and see things not visible to the naked eye in the field - for example, the hairs on a lion's tongue or the barnacles or texture on a whale's fin - is what I love most about photography. In this way, photography adds a new dimension to an experience. Plus it's cool to be able to preserve random moments and the stories behind them.
