Hello, I'm Shiroi. My real name is Bob. Thanks for checking this profile, as I hope everyone who discovers my site will do.

The name "emotiroi auranaut" refers to a combination of "emotions" and "shiroi," plus projecting an aura, similar metaphorically to how an astronaut is projected into space. As this is a smaller creative variant of my original site, there is also a modesty factor here; you can browse this site "auranaut" which can also mean "or not." My first flickr site has become rather sprawling over time; this site is meant to be more conceptual, focused and streamlined. This site is more about visual depictions of feelings than the approach my original site takes, of being largely about the people shown themselves, humor and a rabbit.

Some earlier posted photos here are altered in different ways, such as crop, lighting, title and caption, from my original shiroibasketshoes hopper site for this site, plus now most of the recent ones are overall exclusive to this site. They are ones that I think work well with the sort of titling and captioning styles I had been using and moving towards in my work for a former online partner from the Philippines, having been encouraged to develop that style of mine further. None have Photoshop, though. These were all taken by me, except for the very few where I, an American guy, am in the photo; those were taken by friends. The ladies in this site are from Japan, except She is from Manila, Philippines, Anne and Nira are originally from Thailand, and Kristyn is American.

I hope the things I wrote for this site can help motivate people in some way to have happier days, find ambitions and escape from sadness. If my work can help others find their own new ways of blossoming their concepts of self worth, and their confidence of their unique intrinsic wonderful traits and potentials, I'll be pleased.

This site is meant to include a theme of women's empowerment / women in control, as well as concepts of animal rights, youth rights and environmental needs. Any photos that depict sensuality, or sexiness that I always wish to be subtle and classy, included that theme as the model's initial choice, or choice to go along with my suggestion, and with her comfort. It is very important to me that the models have fun at the shoots. I wish to never suggest anything inappropriate, and I never push an idea if the model seems to have hesitation. I am grateful that the models continually are kind and enthusiastic at the shoots, and I always get their prior permission before posting public photos of them. I am glad to give them new opportunities to display their acting talents or aspects of some things they may be genuinely feeling that day. Regarding photos that depict cuteness and pureness with no sensuality at all, it is important to me to communicate that those concepts are not the sole domain of youth, but can be shown and personified by women as well as girls. Having said that, I want to add that I have not ruled out hiring an occasional male model as well someday. I welcome constructive criticism if you have any, as well as the compliments, which can be about my content, my writing, which photos I flag as moderate, or basically anything else about this site.

In case you are wondering what is the cute little white fur clump, I mean bunny, which occasionally appears in photos here, he especially appears in my original shiroibasketshoes hopper site as my rabbit Hopper.

I have been arranging this site to include sets relating to emotions and their auras. Some photos fit more than one emotional aura description, and in that case I chose the sets with the names that I think most closely fits the aura of that photo. The moods shown range from completely genuine to acting the aura. I hope you'll have fun guessing which are more one way, the true feelings of the models themselves, or the moods of their pretending for the photo. In other words, are they true emotions, auranaut...(or not)...

I put these photos only into groups that are not too extreme, and I try to particularly keep them out of groups that contain explicit nudity or porn, which I avoid as much as I can. This is because my interests are more subtle, and because some of my models may prefer their photos not end up near the most revealing styles of material. I am still not fully fluent in Japanese, the main language of most of them, so it is not as easy to discuss something like this in detail with them as it is to get the basic posting permissions from them, as I do...so I feel I should operate on the conservative side in this regard. Even if the group contains frontal topless nude, amongst many non-explicit wonderful photos, I feel I should avoid contributing.

Flickr can be addicting, and as many of you do, I have a busy life away from flickr as well. For reasons like this, I regret I don't have time to be as active in joining and contributing to groups as I'd like to be. So if I don't join your group you invite me to, please don't take it as a personal snub of any sort. I am glad to know of any questions anyone has for me. One more thing about groups: I decided to avoid groups that require one to comment on, award or favorite other photos. The reason for this is more than my being busy: Although I enjoy complimenting others and feel other people's photos deserve praise, I would like all the compliments I give and receive to be completely voluntary, with no feeling of obligation. This is related to how I never invite people to join my groups; I only invite photos. I want anyone who joins my groups or compliments my photos to do it out of genuine desire to do so....and thanks very much to all who do. If you feel no desire to, that is fine, too, of course.

When someone makes me a contact, friend or family, first I check their profile. I am grateful for all the nice and classy people who I have gotten to know through flickr, and I enjoy seeing their work. But if someone's profile details, filter status or groups names suggest to me that your photostream will have pornography, sorry, I won't be checking it in detail if that really is the case.

I do not like to block anyone; but I will likely block if obvious disrespect or ignorance of my discomforts (as explained here) in combination with ignorance of flickr rules is shown. For example, if someone has unmoderated porn in their stream, which I find and see (even though my SafeSearch is on) through my checking who left some nonspecific comment, I'll probably block. Also when my photos get spam posts unrelated to the particular pics, with irrelevant links to unrelated, questionably motivated sites, often repeated word for word, coming from an account with nothing I can see in it to explain things, I'll block that person, or perhaps I should say that spambot.

My site does not feature what is commonly known as "street photography." That is because I do not feel it is right to photograph strangers without their permission, particularly if those photos were to end up online, as the females may not wish for that. Some people related to them may feel the same, and I think some may even lose jobs over it, if an employer rule is that they should not allow themselves to be photographed on the street. For example, I think some Asian cosplay women who hand out items to the public are instructed to not let themselves be photographed. I know some street photographers rationalize that it is capturing a genuine candid moment that otherwise would be lost forever. But attractive candid moments are happening constantly all around us. There is no way to see anywhere close to them all anyway. I know that many street photographers say that if the females photographed want their photos removed, that the account holders will obey that. But I think it is unlikely that strangers will be aware of the site to see those words. As I sympathize more and more with how females' images are used online in ways they do not wish, or may not wish. it has become too emotionally difficult for me to surf through sites that are largely these kind of candid photos taken without permission. When people comment on my photos, I try to reply to every one of them, and to visit their sites too, unless they have prominent unfiltered porn. But even about nice flickr contacts and friends, I wish to communicate that I am sorry, I'll probably be at least basically avoiding the photos portions of your sites, due to my empathy with these females, if those flickr people have largely "street photography" on their sites.

Thanks very much to Korean Angel, Beeyourself, Nikita Hengbok, RovingEyePhoto, and David6of7 for the testimonials!

Thank you all for visiting! Thanks to everyone who has made nice comments or favorited my photos. I am also interested in constructive criticism about any aspect of my photos, if you have any.

"Shiroi, or Bob, both the same, achieves a rather unique artistic end in his photographic presentations. By focusing equally on the mod and the emotion, both as one, he seems to transform the total viewer perception, physical beauty becomes ethereal, emotional charge almost palatable. Perception lies at the base of all our work, so its reversal is pretty significant to the way his work comes through. No, not as big as the Earth going off its axis, but in our photographically two-dimensional world, Shiroi's blending of look and soul maybe allows us to see each more clearly, maybe allows the joy he obviously perceives to more readily seep through.

Very nice work, Shiroi. Keep it going."

    Nikita Hengbok says:

"Bob aka Shiroi aka emotiroi auranaut has his own delightful style of photography. His descriptions in his pic are full of bubbly wits/humor & cuteness which are much needed in our world. His antics with Hopper(his cute soft toy pet bunny) might portrait him as a child-at-heart, but that does not means he is mentality immature, just that he's willing to think out-of-the-box. His fascination of all things Japanese might seems weird to some, however that does not make him a lesser human being. In fact, Bob is quite an unique individual with strong sense of propriety. A sweet, warm/kind-hearted, thoughtful, gentle guy, caring more for his friends & love ones more than for himself. He's also full of encouragements & always willing to help. There seem to be a compulsion in him to be happy & at the same time, trying to make others happy too. We may not have met in real, but the more I know of his characters/personality, the more I am convinced that he is a person that I can respect & trust. At the very least I can say is, I'm proud to be his friend!"
