Birds and Beasts
Emily Frankovich

For most of my life I have tried to capture animals with pencil or paint. First it was horses, then cats and now I bring, frogs, squirrels, fish, and birds to life on paper

I worked in watercolor at De Cordova Museum School for 10 years. Then I spent 4 years learning Chinese Brush painting. Recently I have been taking courses given by the Painters Guild of the Lexington MA Arts and Crafts Society of which I am a member. You can see the originals of many of these paintings at Out of the Blue Art Gallery , 106Prospect St Cambridge, near Central SMA q. In May 09 my paintings will be on exhibit at the Lexington Public Library
I went to Winsor School in Boston where I spent much of my time drawing horses and then to Vassar where I was editor in chief of the Miscellany News (college paper). Writing became my profession, first as a reporter for a small daily newspaper and later as a technical writer. On retirement I went back to drawing and painting.
