Elmwood Park Zoo was founded in 1924 and has gone through many changes over the years. We feature animals from "The America's" - so animals you would see in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Central and Southern America. Check out the photos posted, it's only a small sample of the critters you will see at the zoo! Some of the recent changes include Howler Monkeys in the Bayou Building! We also have a Peccary named Joan on exhibit, which Elmwood Park Zoo is one of nine zoos in the United States to Exhibit! You also can't miss the Bald Eagle exhibit when you walk through our front gate -- It's the second largest open air exhibit in the in US (the Bald Eagles are all injured, which is why they don't fly away, and is also why they are living in captivity). Open year round, come to the zoo! Our hours are 10am-5pm year round! We are closed Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Eve thru New Years Day. Love us that much, become a Member!!
