These photos are a part of the Elmwood Park Public Library's Local History Collection. The photos, documents, maps, and artifacts that compose the collection tell the story of Elmwood Park, IL and provide a window into our past. We hope that you feel free to share your memories of the life in our village in the comments section. Be sure to visit our blog for more information. We also received a grant from the Illinois State Library in 2008 to digitize hundreds more photos from our collection. These photos are from the first 50 years of the Village covering its founding up until the Golden Jubilee celebration. Some are found here in our Flickr collection but many more are a part of this collection. A Village Grows: Fifty Years of Life in Elmwood Park can be viewed on the web site of the Illinois Digital Archives.

The Elmwood Park Public Library's Local History Room is located on the second floor of the library and is open by appointment. To view the collection or make a donation, please contact Russ Parker at (708) 395-1217 or rparker@elmwoodparklibrary.org. For more information on the library, please visit our web site.
