Through her photography, she's also a proof that there still is life in Winter Maine - which to me, a shamelessly Mediterranean guy who lives for the Summer, has been quite a revelation and a surprise!
Lizzie seems to me in fact so heated a photographer as I am. She takes pictures of everything that moves or doesn't move in her environment. She accurately and meticulously and conscientiously registers life around her as well as her own personal life, little priceless moments with friends and family, the kind of moments that gradually shape us, regardless of whether we realize it or not...
She has an eye for such moments, for such acts and such persons, but her approach is never indiscreet, never intrusive... It's noble and thoughtful, it's artistic and colorful, it's actually meaningful, it helps us get into the picture and sometimes even feel a part of it... (Yes, once I felt I had caught a severe cold just by looking at the amount of snow accumulated at her threshold!!! - this is how effective she and her talent are!..).
I like to think I have been instrumental in her final decision to get a "serious" camera and thus really help her talent expand and boom - for her sake as well as for ours! My next goal, as far as Lizzie is concerned, is convincing her to move to some sunny place, that will solidify her sunny disposition on a year round basis and give us the chance to enjoy color and light in everyday life as only she knows how to capture and present!
Go geographically South, Lizzie, but, at the same time, go artistically North!"16th August, 2009
