I am a photographer who also writes about things that I have been photographing. I have been doing this for a long time. I have series on gravestones, tombs, graffiti, street art, meat, mannequins, dolls, I also have collages which relate to porn. I can't find the latter and think they may have been stolen.

I'm trying to put some of my work I did just before I got my digital camera in 2003 on line, but I find that my more recent projects are taking up all my time. The recent stuff is just too interesting. So I get to it little by little. That is because I have to either scan or re-photograph all the analog stuff.

I prefer digital cameras, but I find that digital photography in general takes a lot of time and is more expensive than analog photography.

For those who are interested I am now using a Nikon D200 camera. For a lot of the shots I use a 135MM F.2 lens. When I can't use that I use a zoom which starts out at 17MM. I also have a few close-up lenses and an accessory flash. Recently I purchased a zoom Macro lens with a 2.8 lens. The latter lens is super sharp and as of now I am using it along with my 135MM whenever I go out shooting. I shoot a lot of the small stickers with a l05MM Macro lens. I would very much like to have the new Nikon D3 camera. Oh yes, one thing more, I take pictures of subjects I like. Recently I purchased a Nikon D7000 camera with a Tokina 12 to 24 MM wide angle. The latter should allow me to get very wide angle shots and the D7000 should allow larger prints. I am just now starting to use the combination. On the negative side I found that the D7000 is so complex that it is hard to understand all that it does. Even the instruction book I bought is hard to read much less understand.

My first camera was a 3 1/4 " X 4 l/4" Auto Graflex. I got it when I was about 12 as a birthday present. You had to stop it down before you took the shot. It had a wood frame and was covered in black leather. It was a big single lens reflex camera with bellows. These are now considered antiques.

When I first went on line and got a flickr account my friend JSDART told me I had to have a tag or a false name. I chose Elisha Cook Jr. Because he was my favorite old time character actor. I'm a film buff.

A while ago I was warned that somone complained about my site and that after a review the Flickr people said that if I got one more complaint they would terminate the site itself. They did not say what photos were controversial so I put all of them on the restricted list. If you want to see my site, you have to have your safe search filters turned off. It is easy to do. Personally I am against censorship.

"Allan Ludwig does things with imagery that one usually wouldn't consider. Meat as sex? Mannequins are more than just sex? Graffiti as more than just art? With his elaborate and passionate skill as a photographer, he create monumental documents of the things one wants to see and the things one would never even think of. Bravisimo!"
