You are welcome to use my photography in your graphic design but if your project has any serious commercial potential please contact me first. Thank you!

I am a simple photographer. I shoot with a Nikon D40 (now a D3100) and the kit lens (18-55mm) most of the time. I have explored using accessories such as a tripod and a bounce flash but tend to return to a basic setup. Most of my more recent photos are heavily edited in Lightroom. I am not a pro nor do I ever intend to become one--photography is a pleasurable creative pursuit for me, not something for which I have any particular commercial aspirations. Of course, I would like to get better, so I read digital photography blogs and talk shop with real photographers. I am always up for collaborative work and joint photo sessions and random adventures--it's one of the reasons I'm on Flickr. This is (supposedly) a social photography site, after all!

So what do I shoot? I appreciate texture, grit, and decay. I tend to capture "ugly" much better than "beautiful." I like to go on walks into industrial lands, trainyards, alleys, and laneways to expose the underbelly of civilization. Photography is a very personal thing for me; I don't expect that a lot of what I post will be of any interest to others, although it is nice when that is the case! I am also a graphic designer (mostly album covers) and use a lot of my own original photography in my work.

Please comment on my photos and feel welcome to use them in your own graphic design and artistic projects. My textures are designed for design work!
