I am over 70 years old and an international museum consultant. You can see more about me on www.egurian.com.

I live in Vieques Puerto Rico during the winter where I take pictures with some seriousness. i live the rest of the time in Washington DC and travel for business. I take very few pictures then.

I am devoted to using simple equipment and printing my own material on a simple printer canon i560. I use Picassa or picnik editing. And a simple Nikon coolpix. It amazes me that there are now easy to use equipment that allows for so much manipulation. My photo's are sometime shown or sold in Vieques. I give them away as presents.

I was trained as an etcher and always took door and window photo's to remind me of my travels.

I think of taking photo's as raw material unlike the days of negative film making. I shoot constantly when I wander about because the art for me is in the cropping and editing. I think of it like I did in art school -- composing, coloring, and detailing. I have come to believe that digital photography is its own art form, not an extension of photography of the earlier times.

I am thrilled that flickr exists and that so many photographers create so much beautiful work. I am especially interested in minimalist, abstract, and detail photos.

I would be grateful for any criticisms and suggestions so that my art improves. Thank you.
