I'm mostly a family man. I've been taking pictures since probably the 7th grade. In High School I started taking "a lot" of pictures of friends and really had fun doing it. In college my uncle gave me his old SLR, a Canon FX I think. It had an in camera meter but no autoexposure. I took photography classes at Pittsburgh Filmakers. They were my best classes. Great teachers, great classmates and tons of hours in the darkroom. I bought a Nikon for myself in the middle of college and used that camera for years. Eventually taking pictures of my family became my greatest interest. As my kids are in middle and high school now, I mostly have opportunities to take pictures of them in their activities. I've been fortunate to be designated official photographer for some school organizations and so I take a lot of pictures of other people's kids now too. I post the photos on flickr and have really enjoyed sharing with hundresds of families. I've found a few flickr groups and find the whole flickr social scene very interesting.
