"And those strangers on trains...looks like they're going away again, on Holiday."
Hi.
I'm Edward James. I enjoy simplicity in photography.
I love my wife, daughter, pictures, music, animals and cheesecake.
My goal is to keep everything as simple as I can. I enjoy photographing people in everyday scenes. I scout scenes that offer depth, atmosphere and simplicity.
Photography is not about gear. It's not a contest to see who can buy the most lenses. A lot of people use photography as a status symbol and that pisses me off.
I'm quite fascinated by ancient civilizations and ancient structures.
We build empires from compound to component.
I appreciate every comment.
Thanks for visiting.
I'm now on 500pix

"I am very picky about my contacts and I review them often. Ed has been there since very near my beginning on flickr. How many of your contacts uploads do you click through to view every one? Not many? I would say ED's photostream and 1 or 2 others are the ONLY onesThat I view EVERY image . I enjoy all of of Eds photographs. I don't know the guy personally as he lives on the other side of the Atlantic but he seems to be really decent chap too. Heres to that meet up Ed :)"

"Edward's work continually astounds and inspires me with every shot. He captures the world and the things that are dear to him with a subtle brilliance. If I ever produce shots which are half as good as Edward's, I will be a happy man."

"one day i hope to have edward take a picture of me. sweet composition and attention to colors and details make his images stand out and make me strive to pay more attention to those things in my own work.

"Edward has a great talent for creating images that are visually striking and emotionally compelling. When I first saw his photos on Flickr, I was impressed enough to interview him as a potential photographer for my wedding. When we met him, he presented us with really amazing ideas for shooting our special day. We hired him on the spot, and for the rest of my life I will be thankful we did. The photos he took for us were stunning in both their beauty and their emotional impact. He captured that day for us better than we could have imagined even the most expensive and experienced wedding photographer doing (and I've been shooting for more than 15 years).
What's so impressive about the work he does is not that he's a super-nice guy or that he took the time to learn how to use his equipment. It's that he's just getting started. It takes some photographers years to get as good as he is at the outset. He's going to produce some really impressive work in the future, and I'll always consider myself lucky to have had the chance to work with him when I did."21st December, 2009

"I've had the pleasure of watching Edward's vision evolve over the years. He is a natural storyteller. His strength lies in his ability to bring us into his world, leaving us with these unforgettable images. Not to mention, he's also a really great guy to boot!"
