A major goal of mine on Flickr is to document the history, houses, buildings, towns, communities, character and rural scenes of Edgecombe County, NC, where I was born and raised.

I am a retired Urban Planner now living as the 5th generation owner of my family plantation house (Adelphia) in southern Edgecombe County. I worked as Planning Director in Tarboro, NC from 1974-1985, and Senior City Planner for Raleigh, NC from 1985-2004. I enjoy historic preservation, architecture, design, gardening, landscaping, photography, collecting art and historical books/architectural books/old maps/manuscripts and working to keep this old house together for the next generation.
