hi, i'm kris.. i've never been a photographer in my "previous life".i used to work for a tv station in Lodz, Poland (great city, fantastic creative people - i'm a graduate of Institute of the Theory of Literature, Theatre and Audio-Visual Arts in University of Lodz, always wanted to go to the PWSFTviT, but i've got some back problems, so i can't be a camera man anyway). now i live in east london and work as an AV Technician. i've been taking photos for the last twenty years, but without much thought. seriously i started thinking about photography exactly four years ago. some photos uploaded here are new, some are old and dodgy. i'm still trying to find my own style. at least i can't blame it on the camera if i waste a frame or two, as i've got roughly what i wanted - recently Nikon D3 and Hasselblad 503cxi. apart from these, i've got quite few retro rangefinders i'm collecting. i can't resist their good looks when i see one;-) I'm Male and Taken.

Testimonials"Funny, I've never read Kris's comments in a central european accent but I will do from now on. His rangefinder shots seem anything but retro to me, A nice modern twist from such beautiful cameras, I always look forward to seeing his new work..... If he wasn't a photographer in a previous life he was deffinately a photographers assistant...... love your stuff mate :))" "There is a dark, retro feel to Kris' photos. He has a wonderful eye and I envy his camera collection. I really enjoy his photos and look forward to seeing more." "Nowadays, it’s easy to be flashy on a computer running the latest OS compared to the early days of non-GUI command line instruction thanks to the efforts of so many brilliant people over the past few decades. I suppose the same applies to DSLRs compared with those tricky old film cameras. Kris demonstrates that he has that invaluable background knowledge of photography at a much more fundamental and at the same time highly advanced level." "I write testimonials for people that have striking photos. Kris' photos are inspiring and the first time I bumped into his stream I looked through all of the photos and I wanted to favorite them all. The feelings that I felt from the photos were like those of music. :) I'm not very good with words but Kris deffinately has one of the best streams on Flickr; he's also very handsome, funny, and kind-- I know these things. ;)))" |
