We are a husband and wife team who are invertebrate surveyors, an occupation which takes up most of our time during the Summer months. Most of our recording is divided between the Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve and Eakring areas of Nottinghamshire in the UK, which provide two very distinct habitat types.

Our main invertebrate interests was originally Lepidoptera, but this has evolved to include Coleoptera, Arachnida, Hemiptera and most recently Diptera, finding many new species for both the Sherwood Forest NNR and Nottinghamshire in the process.

We are extremely fortunate to have full access to the ancient Sherwood Forest, which is a truly magical place to have virtually on our doorstep.

This Flickr site is an accompanying internet resource to our main website www.eakringbirds.com, which features more images of the invertebrates illustrated here.
