Planning for light by dune.hiker

Just out to have some fun with photography. And maybe meet some good friends along the way. :)

I recently gave away my fancy Nikon digital SLR as a present, so now I'm back to shooting film, and I must say that I'm enjoying it!

I currently shoot my photos with the following film cameras:

Canon AE-1 Program
Canonet QL17 GIII
Holga 120N
Olympus XA
Polaroid 250 Automatic
Polaroid 450 Automatic
Polaroid Spectra System
Polaroid SLR680
Polaroid SX-70 Model 3
Yashica Mat 124
Vivitar LI55 (this is the same as the Kodak KV270)

Photographing philosophy:

For me, it is generally true that, "Pictures of perfection as you know make me sick & wicked."

I am not the artsy type, so my images serve more as a catalogue rather than an aesthetic expression. If an artistic quality sometimes comes through, this would be due to the subject and light themselves, rathen than myself. Nature, for example, needs very little help from me.

I tend to alter my photographs very minimally or not at all. So the images you see in my photostream are likely to be raw images, straight from my scanner. Sometimes, I crop when I think there is a very distracting element in an image, or I rotate a bit to square off horizons and verticals, but I don't do these often. Sometimes I also try to save overexposed photos by decreasing the brightness. One exception to my minimal tweaking habit would be in the case of instant film images (e.g. Polaroids), in which case I try to match the colors that I see on my computer screen to what I see in the actual photos. In this, I succeed only approximately.
