March '09. Just finally getting to grips with digital after many years in the darkroom. Put my beloved Nikon FM away and am dipping my toe in the digital water. Hope to match some of the amazing quality I've seen on Flickr.

There's been quite a debate on what we should and shouldn't take photos of. There have been suggestions of changingn laws to restrict taking pictures in certain places or of particular people [eg police officers]. This link, to Urban 75 gives a useful overview of where the law stands at present.

Just a word about my cameras; I'm no professional and I don't pretend to be an expert on photographic equipment, but I've managed to get (IMO) some pretty decent results over the years from various Nikon cameras. Most of the older shots in the photostream were taken on my much loved Nikon FM, which I used for 20 years; since going digital, I've relied on a D40 and a D70 plus a Coolpix compact which is almost as good as a DSLR.
