I'm an Asian-American living/working in Taipei, Taiwan. I like to take photos. I do other stuff too, but photos are fun, and I have a questionable memory, so this is probably a good hobby to have.

Typical photo themes: light, texture, nature, construction, night shots, roof shots, long exposure, infrared (IR), cats, color, decay, engrish, stupid stuff.

Main Gear:

Sony V3
-My first major digital camera with manual settings. Takes great pictures and is great for long exposure shots. I like the color it produces as well, and it has threads to add filters via a barrel adapter. Also one of the last cameras to have NightShot; when combined with an IR filter, allows me to take IR photos without modification, within limitations. Because Sony limited the settings to about f3.2 and 1/30 second exposures, I have to use ND filters and such along with the IR filter. This was my workhorse camera for about a year and a half, and I still use it for IR and some quick shots.

Nikon D80
-My first DSLR camera. I would've gotten a D200, but it was too much money over the D80 - oh well. Performs well, but requires that I pay attention to exposures - I float between -0.7 and -0.3EV corrections. Whenever I get around to getting rich or learning to poop gold, I plan on getting one of Fuji's UV/IR DSLR models, seeing as they take Nikon lenses and will let me take UV and IR photos without modifying the camera.

+18-200mm VR lens: My primary lens, works for most situations and has a great range. The zoom cams out though, and pictures could be sharper, but it's solid and has vibration reduction, which helps a lot. This is what I use most of the time.

+50mm f1.3 lens: Given to me by a friend for my birthday, I'm just starting to use it. Takes razor sharp pictures, and autofocuses extremely fast. Excellent low-light performance due to the f1.3 thing, and good for shallow depth of field shots. No zoom though, which I'll have to get used to.

K800i Phone
-3MP camera that's always with me, and it takes decent pictures. Not a proper digital camera replacement, but far better than your average phone camera. Performs much like an okay digital camera. Ironically, the only Sony camera I know of with a panoramic stitch function, which I really really wish they'd implement with their normal cameras.
