The Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) is Victoria's lead government agency for sustainable management of water resources, climate change, bushfires, public land, forests and ecosystems.

We are the driving force behind finding new ways of doing things so that Victorians can reduce their impact on the environment and live more sustainably.

A prosperous and liveable Victoria depends on a healthy environment.

For instance, we need the air we breathe to be free of pollution and the water used by industry and agriculture to be clean if we are to improve health and create jobs and wealth for all to enjoy.
