On April 7, 2010, Drumming An End To Poverty will be broadcast from the Kenyatta Conference Center in Nairobi, Kenya. In partnership with The Global Microcredit Summit Campaign, thousands of financial professionals, world leaders in philanthropy, and celebrities will participate both in-person and through dedicated broad band Internet. The Nairobi drum circle will be linked in real time to other drum circles to be held Washington, DC and Bangalore, India. These drum circles will form the basis of a global fund appeal to support small enterprise growth in developing countries.

A drum circle is a combined social rhythmic event that is inclusive. The drumming draws everyone into a community of sound and cooperation that has proven a powerful force in societal interaction in many parts of the world. It is a cultural tradition that has bridged the gap between developed and less developed countries. We will use this synergy to reach out to the large socially aware demographic around the world – to arouse and energize people in support of our sustainable vision to end poverty.

Our objectives are to raise global awareness of the growing success of microcredit as a permanent solution to structural poverty and to raise funds for the establishment of a microUP program to support sustainable businesses in the developing world.
