I usually carry both the 7D and 5D when I am out hiking. I keep my 180mm Macro on the 5D and the 65 MP-E on the 7D. I always carry a monopod. Both cameras are fitted with ring flash.

I do a lot of photography and have begun to notice "occupational hazards" of macro photography. The main problem I have noticed is pain in my right middle finger. It is from supporting much of the weight of the camera with this finger. I would be interested in hearing from anybody who has other occupational risk stories related to photography.
Welcome. I enjoy interacting and make a point of carefully checking out photostreams that show interest in mine. I rarely have the time to come back for a thorough check at a later date. If we are contacts that means I have checked you out and would like to keep in touch over the years. Please don't take it personally if I don't visit your site regularly.
I am a physician (hospitialist), married with three children. I like photography, music, outdoor work. I am a member of the Baha'i Faith. I like to sing and play guitar.
Photography is my passion. I blame the digital camera.
Macro-photgraphy is a whole different perspective. “It's as large as life, and twice as natural!” Lewis Carroll
Like many of you I am a relative novice to photography. While I have always enjoyed photography, the long turn-aroud time and the encumbrance of film handling dampened my zeal. In this digital day we have photolabs at our fingertips. The more rapid feedback has revolutionized photography.
Photography has taught me to pay closer attention to the world around me. The world changes constantly and through our cameras we are able to freeze moments in time. We get to study the details that might otherwise escape our powers of observation. With practice and skill and luck we learn to capture the beauty and spirit of existence. What a joy!
It is now more than three years that I have been using the power of the digital camera to help me to admire the amazing Creation that lives just beyond the clear perception of my senses. You know what I mean ... all those little creatures and plants that we know are there but can't really appreciate because they are a little too small or move a little to fast. Macrophotography is truly a great way to capture and share the marvels of this "middle" world.
Flickr has become a passion in my life. I get to share my photographs with people like you and the feedback lets me know what resonates. In other words, Flickr is like a school of shared experience that helps me to grow. I enjoy meeting people from around the world and hope to be able to form lasting relationships about our common interest of photography.
By the way I have a hospitalist work cycle that requires intense concentration for five days on then I get about 10 days off. When I am on I am not always as responsive as I would like to be. Hope you don't take this personally.

"Dr Moto has taken some of the best macro photos on flickr. Each of his photos is beautiful or shocking - and often times both. The creatures he is able to capture and the way he manages to capture them is amazing. He is truly talented and I know where to go when I am in the mood to view wonderful macros."
