Drive by Press is a design collective specializing in art, apparel, design, and special project marketing. We specialize in on-site Wood Block apparel printing at events, concerts, and marketing tours.
Drive by Press prints limited edition apparel by using a process that is totally unique and separate from commonly seen screen-printing operations. Their approach to design is truly innovative in that each one is hand cut and custom printed on site. Participants are able to select a design block and then get to watch as the woodcut block is inked and printed right in front of them.
By printing using their woodcut method, everyone has the chance to collaborate with the artists in the selection and
placement of the design, creating a one of a kind printed especially for them! DBP are the only operation in the country that is using this method and are truly “one of a kind” apparel printers.

"Howdy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DBP was created when me and Gregz, loaded a printing press into my pick-up truck and set off with the mission of showing, as many people as we could, prints and then teaching them how to do it in the back of our truck!. And we called the beast... Drive by Press.
Over the last two years we have traveled over 40,000 miles, collected over 1200 contemporary prints, and have visited well over 75 Universities, galleries, and art museums. The project is self funded surviving solely on small visiting honorariums from schools and museums and the sales from printing woodblocks on paper and t-shirts for everyone to see and own. The blocks have been graciously donated to DBP from some of the greatest woodcut artists in the country to support the endeavor.
We also give educational lectures on contemporary prints and practices as well as the history of printmaking. We decided to do this in hopes of inspiring young folk with the innovative ways this 600 year old process is being used today by other artists to make cutting edge artwork of its time ( but also cuz Uncle Chuck told me that Work was for Suckers and I had to find a way to make a dime on my own Time).
