First-place winner of the 2004 Hilton Head International Piano Competition and described by many as a Renaissance Man, Dr. Andrew Le (Drew) is currently Head of Keyboard Studies and Associate Professor of Piano at Hope College in Holland, Michigan. Described as "individualistic without a trace of contrivance or eccentricity" by critic Harris Goldsmith of The New York Concert Review, Drew is known for his exciting, engaging, and artistically sensitive performances. Drew's wide-ranging repertoire spans centuries of music (although he has a particular affinity for fin de siècle French music), and he has performed solo recitals, as a chamber musician, and as soloist with orchestras at halls and music festivals throughout the United States and abroad.

Drew holds a Doctor of Music Arts degree from the Juilliard School, where he studied with Jerome Lowenthal. His dissertation research focused, in fact, on the performance and pedagogical traditions of Jerome Lowenthal and preserving the heritage passed down to him from his own teachers, Alfred Cortot, Eduard Steuermann, and William Kapell. Drew is also a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he studied with Arthur Greene, and of the Interlochen Arts Academy, where he studied with Victoria Mushkatkol. In addition to his First Prize at the 2004 Hilton Head International Piano Competition, Drew has been a prizewinner in numerous other competitions including the Bronze Medal in the 1997 Gina Bachauer Young Artists International Piano Competition, Winner of the 2004 Aspen Music Festival Concerto Competition, and the First-Prize winner of the 1993 Music Teachers National Association (MTNA)-Baldwin Competition. Drew has served on the faculties of the All-State Program at Interlochen Arts Camp, the Juilliard School Piano Minor Faculty, the Gilmore Foundation Piano Camp, and was Jerome Lowenthal's Teaching Assistant at Juilliard in 2003.

Drew performs frequently with his wife, violinist Jennifer Walvoord. Together, Drew and Jenny are the Artistic Directors of the Chamber Music Festival of Saugatuck. Drew and Jenny are known for their dynamically engaging performances, and are loved by audiences everywhere, particularly for their fresh and often witty commentary about the music they choose to present. Their charismatic stage chemistry has taken them to venues all across the nation.

Drew is also the founder and director of the Brown Bag Series at the Holland Area Arts Council, an informal concert series designed to encourage and foster the accessibility of classical music to the public. Passionate about serving his local community, Drew has also performed recitals as food drives, the last of which brought in close to 600 non-perishable items that were donated to the Holland Rescue Mission.

As a photographer, Drew captures weddings, head shots, landscapes, concerts, and other events. He particularly enjoys offering free photographic services to benefit non-profit organizations in the local Holland area. Drew is also a contributing photographer for Getty Images' stock collection.

Last but not least, Drew is also a section violinist in the Holland Symphony Orchestra.

"drewle is a fantastic photographer who manages to take awesome photos in two very different areas: his studio portraits are among the best i have ever seen and his outdoor experiments with depth of field and bokeh are pure gems."
