Dreaming Aloud's photostream  

I've always enjoyed taking photos and sometimes managed to get quite nice looking ones with my trusty point-and-shoot. After talking to friends who had scary DSLRs, I decided I needed one. Eventually my birthday rolled around and I treated myself to a Sony Alpha 700. Now I'm in love with it and take it everywhere I dare. I'm building up quite a collection of lenses: 18-70mm F3.5-5.6 zoom lens, 55-200mm F4.0-5.6 zoom lens, 50mm F1.4 portrait lens (my favourite) and a 100mm F2.6 macro lens. I haven't yet delved into the world of flashes and lighting, so tend to adjust what's available when I can.

Thanks to a fellow photographer I'm a devoted Lightroom fan and use it for all my editing, whether it's a simple touch-up or a hardcore airbrushing session. I run it on a Mac because, as a Professional Geek, I hate Windows.

I mostly take photos of whatever happens to be in front of me - people, my home, my local area. I experiment when I have the time and inclination, and sometimes get some interesting results.

I'm always trying to get new ideas and to work out how I could have made a shot better - so if you have constructive criticism, I'd welcome it with open arms. Plus I live for comments of all kinds, so knock yourself out!
