I am a commercial photographer in Seattle, WA. I started snapping when I was in 9th grade and have never looked back. I've tried to think about what else I would do for a living if I didn't photograph and the only thing I could think of is baseball. I studied art photography in 1981 at Phoenix College with Allen Dutton. He is the most influential person in my life as an artist. He convinced me that if I wanted to make a living in commercial photography I would need to go to the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. So I set my sites and goals on this and attended Art Center and graduated with a BFA in Photography in 1987. Art Center has a way of breaking you down and making you into a commercial photographer. Whether that is good or bad it was very successful. Now that I have been working in the industry for several years it seems as though I have come full circle and back to my roots as an artist. That is why I am here in Flickr. By all means not to sell myself but to be with other artists, professional or not, that share my same interests whether it be cool motel signs, street photography or small town america. There is a lot of great talent out there and they are not all professionals. I love that and I love being able to view and meet new friends with the same interests from all over the world.
