I got my first camera when I was about 10 years old, and I've been taking pictures ever since.

I've been dabbling with Flickr for a few years now, but only became really obsessed in late 2006. Shortly after that, I bought myself a Canon EOS 400D to complement my Sony DSC-P200 point-and-shoot. The latter camera was subsequently drowned in the beer incident. Thankfully, my nice insurance company replaced it with a Sony W90 which, while not quite as good, will do the job just fine.

In May 2010 I upgraded to a Canon EOS 7D, which is lovely!

Comments on my pictures are always welcome, and so is constructive criticism.

Update May 2010

I've had a bit of a break from Flickr recently, and from photography in general. A couple of years ago I was a total Flickr whore. I joined every group going and added everyone as a contact who had added me. I also posted pretty much every picture to those groups where you have to comment on 5 other pictures in the group. I couldn't get enough hearts, badges, stickers, gongs, trophies, all that stuff.

However, I've now given all of that up. I don't post to those groups, and I am now far more relaxed about how many (or indeed, how few!) views my pictures get. I've left dozens of groups recently, and I'd rather not have invites to post to said trophy groups any more.

Also, since I've been back, I've been purging my contacts list. Some of my old contacts haven't uploaded in years, so they're gone. Others, well, I've just decided that I don't really like their stuff, so they're gone too. Please don't be offended if I don't add you back: your stuff could be outstanding, but if it's not my cup of tea then I will tend not to add you.
