I spent a decade as a river guide on Appalachian rivers. I completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental geo-Science and a Masters of Science degree in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Resources at West Virginia University. During and after grad school I had the opportunity to study examples of sustainability in Costa Rica, Ireland, Mexico, and the USVI. I now dedicate myself to my family and identifying, developing, promoting, and demonstrating sustainable travel and tourism in Appalachia and beyond.
