It all started on my first child's due date, January 25th, 2003. I sat at my Mom's design table (well, as close as I could get to it) and created my very first pinwheel mobile for my daughter Gwen, who made her grand entrance into the world 4 days later!
The animal prints came to be when my son Henry was born. He's quite the little animal himself, so it only seemed fitting to fill his walls with his own kind! All of my prints are made from artwork that, once again, revolves around paper. It's just amazing how a little animal shape can be transformed into something with so much character!
My first trip to a scrapbooking store was actually to make the mobile. Ever since then I see each sheet of paper as a potential wheel. The endless selection of colors, patterns and textures provide ongoing inspiration and I sometimes leave my favorite store with $50+ worth of paper! It's become a bit of an obsession, but it pays off when I get a request for a custom mobile and I can pull papers from my stash instead of heading out to the store (where I end up buying even more)!
