I was born in 1945 in New Zealand and now live in Canberra, Australia. I recently left the Public Service where I worked in Youth Work and Child Protection for over 20 years. I have now returned to full time photography covering weddings, portraits and special events.

I became interested in photography at a young age. I was processing my own film at the age of 9 . I would ask my mother sit in the dark and watch luminous clock to time the processes .

I took some super 8 movie when I was in Vietnam (my first movie effort) and impressed a public relations officer sufficiently for me to be accepted for training as an army public relations photographer.

I left the army three years later I started my own business as a phorographer which I ran for 6 years. My career then moved into computers and at the age of 45 I discovered that people were more important than technology (though I still love my technology). I moved into youth work. Entered university as a mature aged student and completed a psychology degree and a social work degree.

Over time I have been drawn back to my early passion for photography. Many of the images on my Flickr pages are from folk festivals that I cover for the Trad and Now magazine.
