Welcome, I’m Donald Quintana and this Flickr site features my photography.

Through out my life I have been fascinated by the natural world around me. Growing up in a rural part of the central coast of California, I have been privileged to be able to experience from a young age the beauty of nature. My explorations began as most do, by catching lizards and frogs as a child to exploring the surrounding scrub oaks and coastal beaches as a teenager. In college I was enthralled by my natural history courses and, though an art major by declaration, I found myself leaning towards the great outdoors. Somehow I must find a way to combine my love for nature with my love for art. Thus, my passion for nature photography evolved.

I have long admired the work of photographers whose images have graced the covers of National Geographic, Ranger Rick, Audubon and other such nature magazines. Though only a few of my photos have been published in small periodicals or online, I hope to see my images used more in the future to help further environmental causes, and bring awareness of our natural world to people as a whole. I am a member of the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA), and The San Luis Obispo Camera Club.
