Scottish male, just turned 41, Canon DSLR user (20D mainly, with a 400D as a backup - it's too small to handle with frozen fingers) with very limited photoshop skills. Mainly into landscapes especially northern Scotland and my home county of Perthshire. Brought up on 35mm SLR's, which is why I try to get the images right in the viewfinder rather than rely on digital 'cheatery', recording what I saw rather than what Photoshop could let me see. Admittedly, most of my shots get a minor tidy up and sharpen but nothing drastic. Used to work on the railways which led me to a lot of remote, wild and beautiful places.......the views were often the compensation for the long, cold, wet, hungry hours out on site.

Started taking photos in 1982 when, after a few (unsuccessful) experiments with my mother's old Kodak Retinette, I bought a wee Agfa 35mm compact. Going against the fashion......110's were all the rage for beginners then! A Pentax MG followed a year later, that and an A+ kept me happy until I went digital.

Then the serious addiction started......
