I like photographs. I like taking them, and I like looking at them.
A camera is a time machine, albeit one that produces a 2D representation of a span of time.

Ilford Pan F and Kentmere paper is where I started, developing my prints in a converted disused stinky toilet. My early career involved a lot of rostrum camera work and studio flash. I was in AV (audio-visual, tape-slide, multi-image, multivision), it was really creative and exciting work. It is an industry that no longer exists.

I use assorted cameras, all digital these days. Generally I shoot close to the subject, wide-angle and macro, the longest proper lens I have is 135mm. Some of my images are straight out of the camera, such as most of the macro work, others are processed in some manner or other. I don't think it matters beans how or with whatan image is created, the image is all.

The extraordinary amount of talent, creativity and diversity that can be readily seen on Flickr is a suberb inspiration. My comments are normally specifically photography related rather than social, so may seem a bit dry and clinical (a bit like me).

If you would like to use any of my pictures for something I will most likely be delighted, but please do ask first.

I hope you like some of my stuff, Dom Walton.
