"I've known Jesse for several years now and she is one of the main reasons why I am here on Flickr. I consider her one of my trusted and I admire her eye, wit, knowledge and extreme patience. Her work is awesome. I don't think I need to go on about that. Visually it takes you to worlds you can only hope you've seen glimpses of. I only hope to attain such creativity.
Oh and she lets me say Twat. That's the best. I love her."10th April, 2007

"So pleased to see the dollseye show, the quality is lovely, those rich smooth tones are a real pleasure. I loved the classic double fronted house with the surreal goings on outside, dollseye's dolls are superb, all those fine details are easily seen with the fine film grain.
Its those little things like the tiny handmade shoes on the legs stamping down the walls!
And the little person being stuffed into an old black oven range a la Hansel and Gretal, I've noticed on returning this time.
I love Dollseye's organic type heads, they have a certain 'x' plus power that really add to the pictures atmospheres.
The retro cars seem to fit very nicely too, no jarring, It was lovely seeing the old Triumph Herald car, I had one of those, stank of petrol fumes and I'd get quite high, but was a fun little motor!
After seeing Dollseye's pictures I found I had a smile. Not a bad thing, me thinks!
Dollseye, you are one of life's givers!
Happy Daze ! :-)"6th December, 2006

"I am convinced that the world dollseye photographs really exists and has a secret but powerful magical life all its own. OK, I'm a materialist, but still... its wiggled into my mind and now I'm forced to feel as if her photos are friends, weird and depressed and joyous friends. Her stories are family.
The stories dollseye tells are exactly what my mind wants to experience. In fact, you Flickrites should be jealous because between dollseye and *estrella I hardly have time to wander aimlessly (as is my way) into faving all of you more... but don't get me wrong, I've ended up with a list of artists who I don't want to live without.
(Its always tricky to pick favorite artists and I mean absolutely no offense by it. Check my other friends pages and see... I'm writing testimonials fast as I can =).)
Frankly I went Flickr-pro due to two people--dollseye and * estrella. There we are then--when you see dollseye check out what's going on--it'll be well worth the time.
Cheers!"28th June, 2006

*estrella says:
"Like small happenings on a theatrical stage, dollseye's images cannot be looked at just once.
Her work tells us stories, all at once both beautiful, terrrifying and strange. I could spend an entire afternoon savouring the wonder of these works; their subtle yet powerful connotations astound me with every fresh view.
These are works that incite you to think, ponder, imagine, wonder.....they transcend time and era, yet remind us of what is past, present and possibly even the future. For me, her images contain a powerful, essential symbolism; bringing the darkness (or unconscious) into the light for a time, they inhabit that space where the crossover of dreams and realities merge, where the playful quite often inspires terror...and vice-versa.
I could hardly fit my entire thoughts on all of her sets into this testimonial, so i won't try. I can only say that i am endlessly fascinated and inspired by her art - which gives me the sense of having almost recalled something long forgotten, or long repressed... yet forever seeking expression.
Her dolls could be described as the actors on this stage that i mentioned earlier; yet they also appear to possess an unsettling, secret reality of their own...like a strange troupe of players that allow us, occasionaly, to take a momentary glimpse of what goes on in their curious little lives.
To view dollseyes 'series' works is like having discovered a beautiful, lost, and secret book in the corner of an old shop that is likely to dissappear once the door is closed. Her works posses this magical aura that takes me to a precious place, a fleeting, intangible yet essential space - within myself.
The musical part of me yearns to produce blissfully haunting melodies to assist these narratives,......and i wonder......."2nd June, 2006
