Matt Batchelor - Windsor Photography : Simple photography for simple people

Hi I live in Windsor and am a member of Windosor Photographic Society. We meet every Monday, more or less in the Firestation on St Leonards Road in Windsor. It's a great photographic club to be a member of and I've learnt lots in a short amount of time. If you do come to along, you'll find we're a friendly club where we like a bit of a drink and talk about photography come along. We currently have about 80 active members, so there's no shortage of expertise or people to talk to.

Having lived there for years I love the local countryside of the Wye valley and surrounding Monmouthshire and Gloucestershire.

I got my first DSLR in August 2006 and I haven't been able to put it down since. I'm interested in landscape photography since I live in one of the most beautiful places in the UK but I'm also keen to do more event photography, gigs, festivals, shows etc. So if you'd like to invite me to yours, feel free to send me a mail. Currently I have a Nikon D300 and my old D50 whose autofocus has given up. I have a couple of manual zooms and a Nikon 50mm Macro, plus I've got these really neat little Nikon macro lenses I bought off Ebay for about £15. Usually I shoot in RAW and edit using Adobe Lightroom 2 and edit in Photoshop CS3.

As part of the BBC in Pictures competition I had 2 photos selected in the top 20 out of 23,000 photos. What are the odds, well you can work em out. Anyway the photos will be displayed in the Film and Media Museum in Bradford next year. Here's the link to see all the photos.

I've recently been named Windsor Photographic Society's Intermediate Print Photographer of the Year.
