Orazio è nato il 15 agosto 1953 a Cividale del Friuli.

Fin da giovane ha dimostrato un grande interesse per la fotografia, arte che lo ha accompagnato per tutta la vita.
E’ stato maestro di se stesso: le innumerevoli foto scattate, rigorosamente su pellicola, gli hanno insegnato a migliorare a poco a poco la sua tecnica.

Orazio non ha mai preferito un genere particolare di fotografia: ritratti, macro, natura, dettagli, gli piaceva catturare ogni cosa, purché gli dicesse qualcosa.

Medico cardiologo, quando viaggiava per congressi portava sempre la sua macchina fotografica, catturando dettagli di città sparse in tutto il mondo con uno stile unico e distinguibile in ogni foto.
Ha sempre portato la sua Canon anche nei viaggi fatti con la famiglia, che lo ha supportato e apprezzato in questa passione.

Nel giugno 2005 ad Orazio è stato diagnosticato un tumore e 8 mesi dopo, nell'ospedale in cui ha lavorato per venticinque anni, ci ha lasciati.

Le sue foto raramente sono state mostrate al pubblico.

In più di trent'anni- i primi bianco e nero sviluppati a diciott’anni nello sgabuzzino di casa -Orazio ha scattato migliaia e migliaia di foto, lasciando un'eredità di innumerevoli negativi e diapositive, oltre che stupende stampe.
Le foto che considerava più belle le stampava e le incorniciava per appenderle nel salotto di casa sua. Quella era la sua galleria.

La famiglia, gli amici e i colleghi di Orazio portano il suo ricordo sempre nel cuore; ma crediamo che tenere un sito, una grande galleria qui su Flickr in cui mostrare al mondo il frutto di questa sua passione durata una vita sia un modo per portare tale ricordo anche altrove, a chi non lo conosceva. Speriamo che le sue foto possano toccare il cuore di altre persone così come hanno sempre fatto a noi.


Orazio was born on the 15th of august 1953 in Cividale del Friuli, in Italy.

Since he was young he showed a strong interest in photography, an art that accompained him through all his life.
He has been his own teacher: the uncountables photos he took, strictly on film, teached him how to slowly improve his technique.

Orazio never settled on a single favourite photography sub-genre: portraits, macro, nature, details, he liked to capture everything, as long as it told him something.

A medical doctor (cardiologist), when he traveled abroad for congresses he always took his camera with him, capturing details of cities all over the world with a style both unique and recognizable in every picture.
He always took his Canon even in personal travel with his family, who always supported him in his passion and appreciated the results.

In june 2005, Orazio was diagnosed with a tumor and eight months later, in the hospital in which he worked for twenty-five years, he left us.

His pictures have been rarely displayed in public.

In more than thirty years - the first black and whites were developed in the boxroom of his house - Orazio took thousands and thousands of pictures, leaving an heritage of countless negatives and positives, as well as beautiful prints.
The photos that were deemed the best were printed and framed to be hanged in his house's livin room. That was his own gallery.

His family, his friends and his colleagues carry his memory always in the heart; but we believe that mantaining a site, a big gallery here on Flickr to show the world the result of his long-life passion can be a mean to bring this memory somewhere else, to whom didn't know him. We hope that his pictures can touch the heart of other people in the same way they always did with ours.
