A third year, second career seminary student ( now a Vicar) with a passion for photography, two wheelers, and the struggle of people past to make a living anywhere they dug coal, fired furnaces, baked clay, or moved products by steam or thick oily internal combustion. Or, hammered out products in factories long gone.

I also enjoy tracking down (unintentional pun) old rail features- bridges, tunnels, yards, etc. I am not much for science fiction but if there is a time machine I want to use it for awhile. But then if there is such a thing as a time machine in the future, would we not have already been visited by people from the future?

"We study maps into the wee hours of the morning . Then we drive through the night, eating cold food and drinking luke warm tea on way to what could turn out to be a daylighted tunnel- or worse, we find that AEP in its search for coal and corporate greed has obliterated the landscape and removed the tunnel from the face of the earth forever. Often the tunnel breaks into a creek and the bridge is missing... and we have to walk up or down stream to find a crossing. Many a night we've spent in a truck bed or on a Jeep seat, too exhausted from the day's adventure to move... Other times we've hunkered into ditches and melted into the sides of abutments to wait out the railroad bulls with their high rail trucks and flash lights. We've been chased by dogs and rednecks, refused service in cheap diners because we reeked of creosote, tunnel mold and diesel smoke. Wet feet and sore legs are our constant companions. But we carry on, because we're tunnel hunters. It is what we do."

I am a motorcycle addict.

May the peace of the Lord be with you.

"Rockin' Hank is the coolest guy I've never met. I always enjoy his travels through the more or less abandoned areas south of civilization, bringing to life what once was. He is like a history detective finding clues that most of us wouldn't see.
    Keep up the good work!
P.S. I left out the parts concerning foreign motorbikes."
