Douglas Wilks' photostream

I am a professional photographer currently living in western Montana. My 35 year education on photography has come from many varied sources; high school photo club, reading and buying many photography magazines, and books, talking with professional photographers, and my own experiences behind the cameras (both film and now digital).
I have taken thousands of film photos and digital images. (I began my passion as a photographer like many, at a young age...13 years old. I was given a Kodak Brownie camera using C-620 film.)

My photography style is very direct and simple; getting the image tack sharp, unique, minimal digital processing, and keeping it appealing to as many viewers as possible.
Many of the images here will be clear, sharp, and unique. I will also include variations of captures taken within the last few months. You will not see highly manipulated or composite images here. If I use any special techniques or software effects beyond the basic, there will be notes in the description under the image.

I am actively working on making my photography more visible online and in local juried art shows in Montana. I plan to make photography part of my next career. I hope you enjoy the images here and follow me, as my images will be quality and affordable to many people. Thank you for your time.
