I need a better screen name.

I've always used a lot of B&W film. It was cheaper and I could easily process it myself. Now I'm more and more appreciating the special qualities of B&W photos.

I'm not sure I've completely figured out the "Flickr etiquette". Anyone is welcome to add me as a contact. If I added you it's because I wanted to see more of your photos or read more of your words, or I noticed something in your profile that I liked or was interested in. (Which applies to just about every Flickr user I've looked at!)

some vague and unfinished thoughts:

I'm intimidated by what I see on Flickr. I've taken a few photos that I like, but often when I look at some of the other people's photos, I want to remove all mine and go hide in a corner because they seem so insignificant compared to what I see. But I hope I can continue to improve.

I think I have about 3 objectives for taking pictures (not necessarily in this order):

1. Recording a time or place for someone else or a different time.

2. Visual pleasure or some kind of artistic expression.

3. It's fun and the technology is cool.

I'm probably best at 3. It may be why I started. The other two will always need work. I don't always have a camera or sometimes I am too lazy or uncomfortable to use it, so not everything gets recorded. And I barely have a clue about what art is, let alone being able to create any of it.
