"Discarted's images give me hope. He is one of the few photographers on Flickr who has the dedication to become close to his subjects, and the talent to take fantastic shots once he is there. The series on homeless people reminds me of an early Mary Ellen Mark, in that discarted images show not only a documentation but an empathy and genuine concern for the subject.
