The Textile Blog gives a daily insight into all aspects of the history of printed, woven and knitted textiles, as well as carpet, rug, tapestry, quilting, embroidery, lace, wallpaper and ornamental and decorative work. The blog seeks to place an emphasis on the designer, artist and craftsperson as a single, multi-disciplined and even cross-disciplined creative. The creative process, the connections and the journey itself are all part of the complex world of the individual textile artist, designer and crafts person. The Textile Blog has now expanded to include daily updates of current exhibitions around the world, a comprehensive flickr library of textile images, as well as a presence on both facebook and twitter.

Some of the dates are by their nature approximations and may concern the date that they appeared in publication, rather than their production date.

This library is ongoing so please feel free to contact me if there appear to be any inaccuracies.

Please be aware also that all the images on this site are for educational purposes only.

Images are from various sources and may or may not have copyright attached to them.
