I've enjoyed taking pictures for as long as I can remember and spent most of my teen years with a camera in my hand. In 1982 I purchased my first SLR (a 35 mm Nikon FE) and used it almost daily as my three children were growing up. In 1999 I bought my first digital camera (a Sony Mavica) and thought the world of digital photography was pretty amazing. I moved on to a Canon A80 in 2003, a Canon S5 IS in 2007 and then, inspired by all the wonderful pictures here on Flickr and a growing business need for a wide angle lens, I decided the time was right to move up to an SLR again and purchased a Canon Rebel XSi (450D) in October 2008. In May 2010 I upgraded to a Canon 5D Mark II and will probably stop there for a while. :-)

Thanks to everyone for viewing my images and generously taking the time to comment, encourage and offer advice. As each day goes by I feel I'm learning something new about photography and the photos I see here on Flickr inspire me to keep practising.
