"I have to tell you, Raymond is one of the most compelling photographers I've seen in Flickrland. And that's saying a lot. So stop reading this and go look through his stuff. You know you want to be compelled too!"

"Raymond really knows how to tell a story. He sees things in such a uniquely off-beat way! My dream is to go to NY and shoot the City with him...if he'll have me! My other dream is to have him come here and shoot the races with me!"

elefanterosado says:
"Raymond is a first rate, take-no-prisoners track photographer. His photos should be in National Geographic and every national racing glossy in the country. His pictures are richly extravagant, like a delicious cup of dark roast coffee to be savored after an exquisite dinner. A whole host of complex nuances go on in a horse race, more than the average bystander could possibly observe with the naked eye. Yet Raymond somehow manages to authoritatively capture the sleek, deeply muscled lines of the Thoroughbred race engine, the unique seat and set of aids used by individual jockeys, the outline of a fast or slow track, and the perfect suspension of all four hooves above the ground that is the wonder of a racing horse in full stride. It is no easy feat to pull these exacting nuances together in a still photograph, but Raymond manages it. It is an utter pleasure and indulgence to view his photostream."

"Raymond is for the flickr community what time square or the statue of liberty is for New York: a monument.
He has a great style, he's a true gothamist, and he takes amazing portraits. To finish, he has a french name... it's cool.
In french: Raymond est un des incontournables photographes de New York. Regarder absolument son portfolio."23rd July, 2008

dorkasaurus_rex says:
"raymond uses a camera, same as any other photographer in the world, but more than sheer light enters his sensors and slides. people, personalities, character, charm, conversations, noises, and the ambiance of a neighborhood are effortlessly, naturally, and perfectly captured by raymond.
there is something uniquely American, and more specifically, uniquely New York about Raymond's photos. when Robert Moses plowed through neighborhoods to make way for his brutally efficient roads and housing, some people thought the heart of those neighborhoods were excised forever more. through his photography, Raymond shows that the beauty of New York neighborhoods, with all their corner stores and characters, continue to endure, and perhaps, will forever more.
if future generations want to know what it was like to live in New York in these times, they should look no further than Raymond's photography."22nd January, 2008

"I've been wanting to do this long before he did this for me, but, I just couldn't find the words to describe, Raymonds fabulous sense of photography!
He's always been this "out there" type of person, and so happy that he is! I love looking at NYC & NJ through his wonderful perspective! He never ceases to amaze me! I'd love to just hang out with him for a weekend, and sit back and watch him interact with everyday people!
His eye for photography is wonderful, to say the least! He always seems to be at the right place, at the right time!
I just wanted you to know, Raymond, that you have been a pleasure to know, (if only through flickr) and I've always enjoyed everything that you've done! Ha! But, I think you must know that by now!
I wish you well in life....You have so much going for you!
So happy to have come across you, in this vast community!
Stay well, and keep on clicking!
Hugs,
~Lauri..."7th January, 2008

"This guy ~Raymond is so good it's sick. I mean like, I'm finding myself spending like 10 minutes browsing his images and thinking, what would it be like to walk behind him while he's shooting this stuff?
We might not get the chance to walk around with him, but I think we're still very lucky to see his world of honest faces and amazing portrayals of life."30th August, 2007

J.T.R. says:
"What can I say about Raymond that has not already been said? Well, he was my first contact on flickr and a big source of encouragement. I have watched with fascination as Raymond has evolved into the social documentary maven that is so evident in his arresting images of the life of the marginal in NYC.
I had the pleasure of meeting Raymond in the flesh in NYC on July 3rd 2007. He is not only a fabulous, incisive , capturer of iconic NYC images, he is a really nice guy. We had an excellent time perambulating throughout Soho (I was there when he took the Wooster st. girl-on-a-bicycle shot). The fact that I was with my wife and two year old was no hindrance. We all had a great time, and are very pleased that we have a new friend in NYC.
There is nothing better for a photographer than to walk the same streets at the same time with another photographer, and get to see what they choose to capture.
Looking forward to spending more time exploring Manhattan with Raymond and his trusty Canon.

"I love Raymond's work. He's an urban photographer with no fear. Not much escapes the gaze of his lens. We are treated to a tour of the people and places of NYC via his prolific output. Long may it continue, I say."

"Raymond(which apparently is his name) has this very unique style in which you just dip in. He got that awesome diversion between mood pictures and fun ones.
Well to wrap it up here.... i always feel like i should visit New York after his photo stream and what more is there?!...
(Whether or not he is French...)"27th January, 2007

Liza Carlson says:
"Ray's eye has a way of scanning everyday surroundings and finding the pieces that can tell a story. He has a masterful ability to use all the components of photography to form his vision- in particular his colors, dof, compostion and use of negative space are especially intriguing.
His skill in street photography makes him a modern day Stieglitz- able to find the moments that illustrates a subject's content- not just the surface of an experience.
And of course, Ray's self portraits are stunning; sometimes sad, sometimes playful, always worth the time to examine."14th November, 2006

wilfredo pascual says:
"the strength of (his name's) unforgettable images comes from his cool ability to make the familiar strangely unfamiliar and the strange wonderfully comfortable. his self-portraits are striking, one of the first if not the first of my hundreds faved of others on flickr."
