OK, So some words to describe the girl behind the camera.

The one who captures the moments and stops time but for a brief second which tells a greater story than just a photograph.

I am Heather Stokes owner and photographer of Heather Stokes Photography. I will not sit here and type how I went to some amazing photography school and how I am all that. I am simply a girl with a dream and a passion to her soul who is chasing all that life has to offer. I will let you all in on a little secret. I have never had a photography class in my life.... When you follow your heart and what makes it happy, you find success. I will always be true to myself first and foremost and with me you always get real and very down to earth. Everything you see from my website to my business cards to my client forms have been put together by me. I am here to network with others who are chasing their dreams, to talk photography, and to connect with others whose minds think in the artistic realm of this world.

In love with the most incredible man ever, my soulmate and best friend. Mom to three awesome kiddos. I have two boys who are 8 and 10 and are 100% bicycle-riding, dirt-loving, rough-housing boys and a little princess who is 5 and knows she is adorable and loved! You will see them featured a lot in my work as they are always willing and available participants.

This is me, this is my photography. Everyone has a style, everyone has a preference. I am a very relaxed photographer and prefer to let families, kids and individuals have time to relax and be themselves in front of the camera, that is when you truly capture the essence of each personality. I like to allow the families to interact with each other as that is who they feel comfortable with and I am simply there to capture the moments, not be demanding on every movement. I interact a lot with the younger kids and will always act silly to make them feel more relaxed. My true belief is you do what it takes to get that forever moment. The one where everyone asks "How did you get them to do that!?" It is patience. You do not get that in a 20-minute time slot at a walk in studio.
