Vamsi Illindala's photostream  

I am a software engineer by qualification, worked as one for my living, did an MBA for a better living... but most importantly, I am an artist at heart and an analyst at mind. I discovered these two aspects of mine during my four year stint at Infosys - once my dream company. The employers were kind enough to give me not only a job, but also a career and a life. Since then, there has been a bitter internal fight-for-supremacy between these two facets of my personality, and I've been trying to test the waters before plunging on to the path to my destiny. A unique destiny.

I do not think photography happened to me just like that. I've always been artistically inclined and found photography as a great way to unleash the artist in me. I do not know if my photos contain any artistic touch to them, but my heart does. And it will, for the rest of my life.

I started (serious) photography in November 2007, thanks to the inspiration by a few of my colleagues such as Arun and SrikanthBussireddy and others in the wonderful photography forum at Infosys.

Flickr : I believe a special mention about my undying gratitude to flickr and its wonderful patrons, is necessary here. I knew flickr was a great place to store my photos, but my "analyst" mind hadn't been able to realize that many other better photographers also could do so. All I did was, upload my photographs and force my friends to see them. And then they would say, "Oh ya, they were great". Trust me, that made me feel happy. And made me think I was a good photographer. As I started browsing through various other photostreams and profiles, I realized where I stood. And I realized how much there is to learn.

I use a Canon 400D with a Tamron 17-5mm f/2.8, a Sigma 70-300 f4-5.6 APO DG Macro and a Canon 50mm f/1.8 II prime lens. I also use an Olympus OM-4T with a Zuiko 50mm f/1.4 (G.Zuiko Auto-S).
