Background

I first began to take a serious interest in photography after my father died when I was seventeen. Inheriting his Olympus OM-1, I had a strong desire to follow in his footsteps and those of Henri Cartier-Bresson, one of my idols, making travel and documentary photography. I landed a place at the Edinburgh College of Art to study Visual Communications, which opened up further artistic possibilities; I experimented with how photography would translate as illustration or graphic design. For six years I lived and worked as a freelance photographer in Brussels and in Prague. During this time my approach to photography changed, and I began investigations into the implications of the medium itself. These past two years I returned to studies where I’ve gained distinction for my MA in Photography and ‘Pioneers’ show at London Met University.
