david hails from a small town in western new york. he started taking pictures at the age of 8, first with a plastic kodak 126, then a polaroid swinger. his first national ad campaign was shot at age 23, when he was named upcoming photographer of the year by art direction magazine. looking for adventure, the ex-farm boy moved to paris to work in fashion. he returned to nyc and started shooting for publications such as interview, gq, harper's bazaar and esquire, beginning his trademark style of lifestyle advertising. he has shot innumerable campaigns for dozens of agencies. through his work, david has become known as much for his collaborative spirit and contagious smile as his realistic portrayal of energy and emotion. he splits time between los angeles and nyc. when not working, he is most likely either surfing or skiing.
