"Don is my husband of almost 38 years. I have never known of anyone who loves the art of photography as much as he does. I have often jokingly told him that he was born with a camera strap instead of an umbilical cord. He's had a camera of some sort around his neck since he was a kid.
What I especially wanted to share is how lovingly and freely Don gives of himself to others. I could never begin to count the pictures he has shot for our church, for our friends, and for our family. To me, what makes all this more special is that Don had a condition that was taking his eye sight, threatening him with the possibility that he would never be able to take another picture. But through the loving gesture of strangers to whom we are eternally grateful, he has had corneal transplants on both eyes and has been given the gift of being able to see the beauty of the world again through the lens of his camera. The precious gifts he received have been treasured and regiven again and again through his generous gift of photographing special moments in the lives of others."8th February, 2006
