Photographic artist dezsö was born in Orbe, Switzerland, to Hungarian parents. His family immigrated to Canada when he was a toddler. As a child, his artistic passions turned to sketching and colour pencil drawings. Upon receiving a Hanimex 126 camera on his 10th birthday, photography captured dezsö’s imagination that still fuels a communicative passion.

The creative process has inspired dezsö’s mental clarity, mindful consciousness, enlightenment and an enthusiastic connection to “all that is” on a basic fundamental level. His stimulus derives from celebrating the spirit of existence, exploring topics of interest, spiritual centering and philosophy:

“…realizing the full potential of the life-force on this human journey by means of awareness - we are interconnected to everything in the universe…we are a smaller part of the greater whole”. ~ dezsö

Influenced by the works of masters such as Kertesz, Man Ray, Stieglitz, Cartier-Bresson and Ed Weston, to name a few, dezsö began his quest to find his own creative expression while continually refining his “art of seeing”. Noticing the everyday world, dezsö’s work encompasses landscapes, still life, architecture, abstracts and figure studies. Into each composition, dezsö brings his empathic study of light as it reveals form, texture and shadow.
Since the summer of 2002, dezsö has devoted himself exclusively to digital photography. The learning curve, utilizing the art of pixel processing, has been an intriguing challenge for him, adding a new dynamic to his artistic expression.

The final step for each image printed employs the Epson R1800 printer in concert with Epson’s own archival 10 mil matte paper and 8-colour UltraChrome inks which, in combination, have a lightfastness rating of up to 200 years.
