I really prefer the night-time.

As a direct result .. forgive the following, but I see it as necessary:

PLEASE Flickr... PLEASE give us the option of altering the page background colour either per posted photo or [as I would use it] across our entire account. CSS should make this really bloody simple. I for one am tired of sites that use all-white backgrounds [yes! please do make my eyes bleed!] and I'm also tired of those all-white backgrounds making contrasty photos that are mostly dark [like night shots] look like crap because, well, the background is frikking white! PLEASE! Give us 20% grey or black! PLEASE! PLEEEEEEEEAAAAASE! The extra 160 seconds spent editing some CSS would make our stuff look better, and reduce the constant eyestrain you're inflicting on everyone.
