I live in the southwest and enjoy the beauty of the desert. It is an inspiration for many of my painting.

The paintings that I am presenting here represent some of the paintings that I have created since I first picked up a brush/palette knife in 1970 and through to my current creations. It has been a wonderful form of self-expression and I humbly share them for, hopefully, your pleasure.

Some of these paintings were sold years ago, or are in my private collection. Others are available for purchase, either the original or prints of my original. If interested, simply contact me and I will be happy to quote prices and specify availability.

I am fortunate, thanks to a supportive husband, to have a studio/gallery in a separate building at our residence. So I have a wonderful workplace for the creative process, but also a gallery in which to display the finished works. I no longer advertise my gallery, but word of mouth travels in a small town and so I have occasional visitors. I used to exhibit in several locations in town and set up in different art shows over the years. So I have gotten press coverage which helps to establish an identity in the area. I don't do the art shows anymore...too much work. ;-) I have also done interior decor consulting for home or offices. I have also done a few model homes, which was a real exciting process. Freedom of creative expression is a wonderful way to share one's love of color and design.

Several years ago when I lived in southern California, I managed a custom frame shop and art gallery...this gave me wonderful training in the art of framing that has proved to be an invaluable tool of knowledge.

"When I first came across Desert Wren I looked at several of her beautiful paintings and knew that I was hooked like a fish on a worm.

Her paintings are superb, be they acrylics, oils or water colors. Her love of nature comes out in each and every one of her creations. You know that she puts part of herself into each one.

I would be hard pressed to chose any one painting as my favorite, because just as I think I have found one, she posts yet another beautiful creation.

I am a huge fan and I look forward to seeing her newest post be it a painting she did several years ago or one just finished, each one has her stamp of excellence on it.

Desert Wren is a wonderful "lady", she is most encouraging when looking at your work. She is a most welcome visitor to my page and I look forward to reading her wonderful comments that encourage you to keep doing your art and hoping to get better and better.

I truly love her. I am so proud that she is my friend."
