Because I know that some are sensitive to these issues, I will say that I am a father of 3 and grandfather of 2; however, I remain young at heart (translated: refuses to grow up). I remain firmly dedicated to the woman who encapsulates my heart, my wonderful gift from God. If you can't tell, I absolutely love the outdoors. I appreciate what I believe to be the handiwork of God.

I've always been drawn to imagery: photography, art... Though strictly an amateur photographer, I have been taking casual pictures for quite a long time. I make no apologies for scanning older photographs and "processing" them to fit what I originally envisioned.

I started shooting with an old Pentax K1000 (?) back in 1975/6 and I have used various Pentax SLRs and small hand-held cameras until 2009. I also admit to shooting with disposable cameras from Kodak and Fuji. Since mid-2009 I have been shooting with a Nikon D90 and the 18-105mm lens; however, I broke the lens in the mountains as I fell on it--that was October 2010. Now I am using a few different lenses: Nikon 55-200mm and Nikon 14-24mm. My processing software was Photoshop Elements, but I switched to Photoshop in August 2010. I also use Photomatix Pro and SilverEfex Pro. I was scanning with the flatbed Epson Perfection 1250--a gift from my father--but I now use the Epson Perfection V600 Photo scanner.

I invite any helpful tips or guidance.
